International Partnerships: Richmond Validated Programmes

Before an institution can offer programmes that lead to a Richmond UK award, the institution must go through the process of Institutional Approval. This process ensures that partner institutions meet the required set of principles covering structures, management arrangements and procedures, and demonstrates it is trusted to provide a satisfactory environment for the delivery of programmes leading to a Richmond UK award.

Richmond’s relationship with its approved institutions is governed by the Quality Assurance Agency’s (QAA) UK Quality Code for Higher Education, which sets out expectations for academic standards, academic quality and information about higher education provision – a globally recognised standard of excellence in higher education quality assurance that adds important value for validation partners.

Upon successful institutional approval, partner institutions may propose their degree programmes for review and approval through a panel led validation process. Programme validation ensures that a programme of study offered at the approved institution meets the principles of and requirements for a UK award, as guided by the QAA’s subject benchmark statements.
