Associate Professor of Art, Design and Media

About

I graduated from BA Fine Art at UWIC (Cardiff Metropolitan University) in 2002 and MA Fine Art Media at The Slade School of Fine Art in 2008. In 2011-12 I was an associate artist with LUX on their 12 month post-academic development course (AAP). I produce film installations using 16mm film and video, and publish artists’ books with Tamsin Clark of Tenderbooks. These works have been presented nationally and internationally within contemporary art contexts. Currently I am working on new films and a publication based on Robert Bresson’s unmade adaptation of Genesis. In 2016 I was awarded the Gold Medal in Fine Art by The National Eisteddfod of Wales and in the same year received an Artists’ International Development Fund award by Arts Council England to Travel to Japan.

Recent presentation of work include: Solo show, Cairn, Pittenweem, (2019), Maquettes, The Block, London (2018), ASP, Institute of Contemporary Art, London (2018), Bound, Whitworth Art Gallery (2018), MULTIPLEXING, LUX/Cineworld, Glasgow (2017), A Portrait of Beth Harmon for a Screen Play, Tender Pixel, London (2017), Richard Gere: The Archive, White Cubicle, London (2017), Richard Gere Leaves Me Breathless, Utrecht, Tokyo (2016), Offprint, Tate Modern, London (2016).
