Tim is an Adjunct Professor teaching advertising and PR to BA and MA students and digital media skills at MA level. He was previously Visiting Lecturer in Communications at the University of Westminster where he taught Introduction to Advertising; Celebrity and the Media and, Sex, Violence and Censorship in the media.

Tim has a consultancy business acting as an advisor on all aspects of marketing, branding, insight and communications. He is also a partner in Pitch-Side, a specialist research and insight practice which runs insight training courses for PR agencies.

Tim’s move into consultancy and education followed a 25-year career in the BT Group where he held a wide range of board level brand and marketing roles including Marketing Director of the Consumer and SME Divisions, Brand Director for Cellnet (now O2) and BT Group Marketing and Brand Director.

He also sits on the IAP an advisory panel of the Advertising Standards Authority.

He was also a Non-Executive Director of Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust between 2010 and 2014.
