Richmond Professor takes to the stage in the US
Dom Alessio, Professor of History and VP International Programmes at Richmond American University London, recently gave a guest lecture at Centre College, a Liberal Arts College in Danville, Kentucky, US, as part of the College convocation event, attended by students, staff, faculty and the general public.
The lecture, Faith, Folk and the Far Right: Racist and anti-racist Heathenry and occultism in the UK, was based on Dr Alessio’s forthcoming book which examines extremist Heathenry and occultism in the UK and how anti-racist Heathens act to counter this discourse.
Dr Alessio also presented a paper this week at the British Commonwealth and Postcolonial Studies Conference in Savannah, Georgia, US. Entitled, Rethinking Agents of Empire: the Role of the United Nations in the Indonesian Occupation of West Papua, Professor Alessio’s paper focused on an article coming out shortly in the Journal of New Zealand and Pacific Studies.
